Green silk dress, ca. 1865
Dress of green/blue silk with lace collar, hand embroidered in black silk (satin stitch and French knots) enhanced with steel beads and trimmed with black taffeta and black silk and steel bead braid.
[Skirt] The skirt is flat pleated with a centre front and back panel plain and the hem embroidered and trimmed with a contrast flounce. The hem is faced with black silk. It fastens at the side front with hook and eye and there is a watch pocket.
[Bodice] The bodice has a centre front fastening, high round neck and long sleeves, with embroidered epaulets and paned oversleeves. it is machine stitched, silk lined and boned on the seams. There are square tabs centre, front and back.
