Embroidered Zouave (Andalusian?) Jacket, ca. 1860
A stunning antique original 1860 embroidered Zovare jacket. The jacket is made of black wool cashmere and embroidered with multi colored flowers. The front opening, sleeve cuffs and hemline are decorated with multi colored cotton fringe. The jacket is all hand stitched. It has a hidden front button closure and is unlined. It is in excellent condition. The white spots are from the camera flash and are not present on the jacket. There are no holes and no age marks.
